Yoga for holistic health and wellbeing

Holistic yoga

Yoga is holistic, benefiting each part of your body, mind and spirit.  My classes are designed to create a sense of wellbeing, contentment and relaxation.  Yogis are invited to use asanas, pranayama and mediation in class to connect body and mind.  For more complex asanas, yogis are offered options according to how they feel at that moment in time.

My classes challenge but are not about tying yourself in knots trying to achieve the impossible!  Yogis are encouraged to listen to their own body and learn to recognise its needs.

Yin yoga deepens flexibility by targeting the connective tissue via a longer hold of mainly mat based asanas.  It is also a mindful practice encouraging you to slow down and take notice. This is the perfect practice for those who struggle with stillness of body and mind.

Children's Yoga

Children are natural movers using movement for expression and discovery.  Yoga invites them to move freely and mindfully with the breath.  Yoga creates a way for them to feel safe, connected and calm.

Yoga has many benefits for children.  It improves physical health, can help develop emotional regulation and supports social learning.

Most importantly regular practice builds self-awareness allowing children to create their own personal tool kit to use off the yoga mat when life becomes challenging.

Private classes

Private classes offer the chance for you to explore the benefits of bespoke yoga sessions tailored to your specific needs, in the comfort of your own home.

Ayurveda yoga: these sessions are underpinned by the ancient holistic medicine system of Ayurveda. Yoga practice is specially created for you, to balance your inner doshas, fostering realignment of your mind, body and spirit.

Yoga Nidra: also known as the 'yogi sleep' is not simply deep relaxation.  Nidra is a profound journey of self-discovery to unearth your dreams and aspirations.  It is a powerful tool to visualise and forge your path to the realisation of these dreams.

Yoga For Schools

Bringing yoga into an educational establishment allows opportunity for all children to access this beneficial practice.

Yoga can improve children's propensity for learning by creating a sense of focus and calm. This can be particularly important around exam time and those periods of transition, such as preparing for high school.

Most importantly, as a holistic practice, yoga has the power to nurture a child's self esteem, enabling a happier and healthier life.

Yoga in the Park

Outdoor yoga promotes deep relaxation as we are surrounded by soothing natural sounds which create a  more immersive and calming experience.  Improved oxygen flow from the fresh air improves lung function, boosting energy and vitality.  The connection with nature enhances mindfulness and self awareness and gives a sense of grounding and unity increasing our emotional wellbeing. Navigating uneven ground improves balance and core strength. Weather permitting we may even boost our vitamin D levels!

So come and give this class a go!  It is fun and you will be helping local causes at the same time through your small donation.

If you are unsure about whether the class is taking place due to the weather please contact me.
