Dragonflies

An after lunch walk today found Pippy-dog and myself at the Jumbles Reservoir. We have not been for a while so it felt like a new walk. The sun was shining and it was warm enough for shorts and t-shirt despite being the 1st October.

As we walked through Ousel Meadow a dragonfly flitted past us. All summer I have been trying to photograph one, but unfortunately between my poor photography skills and their darting about they have proved quite difficult. Thankfully this beauty decided to take a rest on some nettles and have a wee sunbathe. I managed to get up quite close and take this photo.

My other photo was taken in Scotland, no where near as good but a personal triumph none the less!!
